Initially organized in 1989 by a group of Christian Texas horsemen, Race Track Chaplaincy of Texas was incorporated as a non-profit corporation in Texas in January, 1994. Soon thereafter RTCT received it's 501(c) (3) status as a religious and educational organization from the Internal Revenue Service. The primary purpose of RTCT is to provide ordained, trained ministers as chaplains at each racing establishment in Texas.
RTCT is an inter-denominational, Christian organization that provides spiritual and benevolent needs to all persons involved in the racing industry. RTCT is an affiliate of Race Track Chaplaincy of America, Lexington, KY, which has 77 chaplains serving at some 110 race tracks throughout the United States and Canada, as well as South America.
Our mission at the Race Track Chaplaincy of Texas is to enhance the lives of all racing personnel through spiritually based guidance. Our chaplains are here to meet the emotional, physical, social and educational needs of the horse racing workforce.
The Race Track Chaplaincy of Texas is a non-profit organizaiton.
I have made Your name known to them and revealed Your character and Your very Self, and I will continue to make [You] known, that the love which You have bestowed upon Me may be in them [felt in their hearts] and that I [Myself] may be in them. John 17:26 (Amp)
God is at work in this ministry. On most horse racing tracks across North America you will find a dedicated Chaplain who is ready to share God's Good News with you. No matter what your concerns, where you came from or what difficulties you face*, our chaplains are available to help you discover yourself in God - to know His love and the wonderful plan He has for your life.
Our Chaplains have a sincere desire to share this love and plan with you. Feel free to contact any of our chaplains. They are here for you!
*Our Chaplains will keep your confidences in strict pastoral privacy.
The Race Track Chaplaincy of Texas wishes to give special thanks to former jockey, now artist, Tom Chapman for allowing our web site designers to use his image, "It's All In The Hands" throughout our web site. Tom also a Christian, is also involved in the RTCA. You can see more of Tom's art on his web site at Chapman-Arts.com. We urge you to check out more of the wonderful works from this fine artist, whose painterly approach to capturing the core essence of not only race horses, but many types of animals and people in all aspects of life at the ends of his brushes.
